In Chianti Area - Cavriglia

It poured yesterday on our visit to Arezzo. We have about 4 or 5 hrs of no rain today. Rain will start around 4. Thinking of driving to Siena, about 1 hr. Any other suggestions in the area? San Gimignano and Montepulciano are further. We still have tomorrow and hoping for a little break in the rain so we can do a drive around this area. Any suggestions?

I’m driving a stick so driving has been a nightmare. Hadn’t driven a stick in 100 years.😬

TIA.

Family and I took Villa Alessandra, Cavriglia, from 22 Sep to 28 Sept 2018. Organised by one of my Italian mates who has a farm in the region.

22nd to Montepulciano.

24th to Florence for day and evening.

25th Greve for lunch, Radda for afternoon tea.

26th Siena for day and evening.

27th Boys and I went to Scarperia, to explore a business venture importing custom made hunting knives and some time at the Mugello GP and F1 racing circuit. Both had been arranged in advance. The race circuit through one of my sporting cars clubs.

Spent 4 hours one evening at the Hospital in Montevarchi after my wife tumbled down some steps and cracked a few ribs.

The previous week we were near Todi. Spent a day on the foreshore at San Felicano on Lake Trasimeno. On the southern shore is hilltop town Panicale. UK tv series, Signora Volpe, (Mrs Fox) is set and filmed in the area around the town. Staring Emilia Fox.

Lovely area. Luckily no rain for us circa 25C. Plenty of things to enjoy.

Regards Ron

Loro Ciuffenna
Castelfranco di Sopra
Gaiole

Loro Ciuffenna and Castelfranco are only a few min drive from each other and they are in the same general area, so you could visit both in one shot.
