My wife & I are thinking of staying here in Bellagio. Has anyone stayed there before? Other recommendations in Bellagio? Thank you.

Try Residence l'Ulivo, which is on the grounds of a 5-star hotel, Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni.
You get all the amenities of the 5-star hotel, but the convenience and price of an apartment.
We stayed there for a week a few years ago, and it was absolutely wonderful.

Leslie: Thank you for the recommendation. However, we only plan to stay for 3 nights & the l'Ulivo has a 1-week minimum. Darn.

Sorry, Kit, but you're right. Originally, we weren't planning to stay in Bellagio for the whole week. But l'Ulivo looked so incredible (and, my parents had stayed there) that we stayed there for the entire week.

This may or may not be helpful but we stayed in Varenna in April and took the ferry to Bellagio. We walked by the Il Borgo Apartments and it looked very pleasant--I remembered reading about it in Rick's book so I noticed it more than I might have otherwise. A very pleasant gentleman was greeting guests and I remembered thinking that if I were staying in Bellagio I'd like to stay there. It's in a wonderful location--very near a great Internet cafe and everything else. From the photos on the website it looks basic but clean and nice.
