If you stayed at the Albergo Santa Chiara in Rome

This is the place RS recommended using criteria that fits our travel style - smaller hotel, a family business for many years rather than a big chain.

Promise I will report back!

If you have stayed there, are there any restaurants or cafes nearby that you recommend?

We will arrive in the evening so will want something close by. (late July)

Anything the hotel couldn't / didnt provide that you'd suggest bringing?

Thanks for any tips you can share :-)

We stayed in Albergo Santa Chiara in 2023 and loved the hotel. Location, location, location. Our room was small, but we had a balcony which was enjoyable. Staff is great – housekeeping exceptional. Our favorite restaurant in Rome is Emma about 10-minute walk from the hotel - https://emmapizzeria.com/en/ (reservation needed). Since Santa Chiara is near The Pantheon, there are many places to eat, drink and be merry. I suggest you don’t eat at any of the restaurants in The Pantheon piazza, but we did stop for an aperitivo there at night to enjoy the lovely view. Hotel’s Front Desk staff can make also suggest restaurants and make reservations for you. There is a taxi stand next to The Pantheon. Enjoy your trip.

We were v happy with Albergo Santa Chiara - helpful, friendly team. Great location which is surprisingly quiet at night. Choice of rooms from small singles to larger set ups. Careful, the shower in the small singles is best for a slender person. Good breakfast. Spacious lobby area for sitting or meeting friends. Outdoor garden area as well. In room fridge was v convenient. AC worked well. Gunther gelato close by. Conveniences nearby such as Tiger, Carrefour Express, Tigre groceries - for the things you forgot or want to pick up. Taxi rank v close by
