If I bought vouchers Do I still have to wait in line?

I bought online tickets for Academia Gallery and the Colosseum Palatine. As it turns out they give me vouchers, which I need to exchange for tickets. Are there still long lines to exchange to tickets? Are these lines the same as the line to buy tickets?

Did I just waste my money because now I still have to stand in line? Can I still skip the line? PLEASE HELP!!!

I think I remember there is a special window for the pre-purchase that is across the street from the regular ticket office. Do you have specified time for entry? It was couple of years ago so change could have happen. Someone will correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you for your response Frank. Yes I do have specified times for both the Accademia Gallery and the Colosseum.
At the Academia, the ticket states that I must change the voucher at the "main entrance" of the museum. Is that the same as the main line?

At the Colosseum I have to change it at the Palatine ticket office on Via di S. Gregorio.

Thank you

There may be a short line, but it is definitely not the same ticket-buying line. The big ticket buying line for the Coloseum is right there at the site, not at the Palatine office.

We used the Palatine entrance 2 years ago, but we had Roma Passes rather than prepurchased vouchers, and it was off-season (December), so there was just one small group in front of us, not really a long line. I think there was just one ticket window open then, instead of the two or three normally available, but don't remember exactly. I would hope you could go up near the entrance and if there's any question, just waive your voucher to someone working there and they can direct you to the appropriate place. Your vouchers sound like they should get you to the front of the line.

Separate line (short and fast-moving) at Accademia, Palatine almost never has a line. Signage at these sights will say something like Reservations or Pre-Purchase.

For the colosseum, did you choose the "print at home" option or pick up at the box office? If you chose to print at home you don't need anything else. Just show the attendant at the front of the line and he will direct you where to go. You don't wait in any line because you already have a ticket.

If you chose to pick them up at the box office, again, show the attendant. He will put you in the right line. There may be one or two people in front of you picking up their tickets but it only takes a minute. They look up your reservation and the tickets print right out. You won't lose any time doing this.

You can only pick up these tickets at the colosseum so going to the palatine hill will get you nothing if you didn't choose the "print at home" option.

Hi everyone, thank you so much for your responses. This is very helpful.

Donna,
the voucher I printed out states that the "voucher has to be exchanged at the Palatine ticket office"

I did choose the print at home, but it gave me vouchers.
What do you think?

Did you buy them from the official coopculture site? If not, then go by what is written on the voucher. Any tickets bought through coopculture have to be picked up at the colosseum.
