Loro Ciuffenna. Dramatic gorge that runs through the middle of the town and nice street cafes. A perfect place for picture taking.
I had never heard of it. Just looked at some pictures. Very nice! Thanks! I love when people recommend lesser know places.
Very beautiful - did you stay in the area?
It was a day trip from my apartment in Poggio alla Croce
Thanks for posting this - it looks just stunning! I've been Googling to try to find out whether that gorge was of glacial origin, since it looks a lot like gorges in the Finger Lakes region of NY. So far no luck. Did you learn about the geology of the region?
have not inbsig ...I'm all about visually stunning locations, and this one.
Wow, this place looks fantastic and so photogenic and only about an hour's drive from Florence. I'm curious how this has managed to stay off of most tourists' radar. One of Italy's 'undiscovered' wonders. Thanks for sharing.
well, every place Rick Steve suggests is soon to be swamped with tourists. Don't think this little town could handle it. Should have kept my mouth shut
We stayed there on RS Village Italy trip - Loved it.
One of my favorite village towns in Italy.
"Should have kept my mouth shut." Too late for that, anyway it seems the Rick Steves tour folks already have it on their itinerary.
I'll just find a great little town elseware
