I am traveling by train from Pescara towards Lecce. I have one extra day before my 3 days in Lecce and wondered along that train route some suggestions of a cool place, not too big to stop. Can you all send me some suggestions. I will be traveling alone and haven't ever gone in this area.

Another bote for Trani. It is a beautiful city on the coast. We spent two days there and could have stayed longer..

Trani is a hidden gem. While a large city, it’s beautiful area around the port feels like it’s in its own time warp. Food is excellent, following the slow food movement. We did it as a day trip, but it deserves 2-3 nights.

Trani is interesting but we loved our week in Polignano a Mare. It has an old town, lots of charm, a real town in addition to tourist areas.
Five minutes by train from Monopoli too, another good choice.
