Ideas needed for how to resell opera tickets

I've read the community guidelines for this forum and I understand no transactions can take place. My question is, if you had 2 (expensive) tickets to an opera in Verona that you can no longer attend, where might you go to sell them online? Is there a different travel forum I might be able to post to? Hopefully I'm not breaking any rules for just this question. I'm not trying to sell them here.

My 5-week vacation of a lifetime lasted just 2 days; we never even got out of Rome. Family emergency.

Perhaps you can donate them to a local charity in Verona. What a disappointing situation. I hope all is well with the emergency

If you have the tickets as physical objects, mail them to the theatre. If you do not, perhaps an email might allow them to re-purpose your tickets. In many situations, friends have donated their tickets to us. But since you don't live there, you won't be able to do that

Contact the opera company, explain your unfortunate situation , and if they stand by what presumably is a no refund policy ask if there is away you can resell them on an approved secondary market?

SJS: When I clicked on the link you provided a message popped up on my iPhone indicating I just downloaded a virus. I immediately shut my phone down. It remains to be seen what damage that did. I am now on my laptop.

Paul-of-the-North: If I cannot get any compensation for the tix, I will try to donate. It's just that I lost over $2,000 in nonrefundable plane fares, another $900 on nonrefundable hotel in Switzerland and lots of other expenses (and now possibly a new iPhone thanks to a bad link that was suggested to me).

Joe32F: I will call the theater and see what they say. Thank you for this suggestion.

Oh no! That made my heart jump. I had googled the possibility of reselling and that was the second to third site to come up. Nothing happened when I looked at it, so oh my.! I did look at the others also, but didn’t receive any nasty virus messages anywhere. Had I, I would have done the same in shutting things down.

I will be more vigilant from now on, if it’s even possible for me to know if some site might cause issues! I am so sorry. Hope you are able to get some satisfaction through the Verona Opera through methods suggested by others.
