Our daughter is getting married near Sienna Italy in June 2027. Any favorite places in Italy to visit afterwards? We'd like to relax somewhat, but also love to be active, see the culture and eat. We did a RS "My Way Italy trip" in 2025, which covered Venice, Dolomites, Cinque Terree, Florence, Assisi and Rome. So looking for other places to explore in Italy.

What kind of places are you interested in—cities, villages, etc.? How many days/weeks will you have?
You have a million options so I’d narrow it down a bit. Since you are right there and may be ready to relax, you could explore Tuscany by car, but it’ll be very hot. So, maybe head to the coast or head to one of the islands?
Every inch of Italy has something to offer. So you have to try hard to not find something interesting.
Sleep in Siena and rent a car so you can drive along the Val d’Orcia: https://lovefromtuscany.com/scenic-drives-in-tuscany/ to Pienza’s old town and Montepulciano. Another good day trip from Siena is San Gimignano and Volterra which you can also drive in a day. Cortona is in the opposite direction taking 1h from Siena.
