Hello...i will be traveling to the Tuscany area in August...yes, I know it will be very hot and that's okay we are so excited just to be going. I will be flying into Venice and plan to spend 2 days there before heading to Cinque Terre for one night and then heading to San Gimignano for one week ( we have a time share so we will be using that as our base)....can anyone please give me any ideas for which towns we should "day trip" to while staying in San Gimignano...I welcome and appreciate any suggestions and advice you may have.

Just a thought...
Travel time from Venice to CT will take anywhere from 5 to 6.5 hours via trains, so you won't have much time in Cinque Terre if you're only spending one night there.
