It just so happens our fall break/vacation falls on my daughter's 11th birthday. Any ideas for making her day special while we are in Rome?
Here are some that my grandaughter enjoyed.
Cooking class or kid friendly food tour and golf cart tour of Rome.
Kid friendly tour of the Colosseum then Victor Emmanuel monument with elevator to the top for 360 views of Rome.
Biking in the Borghese Gardens.
Walk. Piazza del Popolo great view terrace up on east side of square, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Piazza Navona. Great squares with fountains and evening entertainment.
Climb the Dome of St Peter's, as early as possible, St. Peter's Basilica, and only if she has interest, family tour of Vatican Museum.
More parks? The Orange Garden on Aventine hill.
Villa Pamphilj Gardens above Trastevere.
My family just did the Walks of Italy Pasta-Making class last month and my kids really enjoyed it - my son is 12 and my daughter is 15 and they were both very engaged and have helped me make homemade pasta since we got home. There were 2 other kids around that age in the class, too - so fun!
Thank you both so much. I will look into the cooking classes as I think that will be a winner with her.
