Yesterday I purchased tickets for the Borghese Gallery only to realize this morning that I had selected the wrong day. Anyone have experience exchanging tickets for the correct date, if available? The two I bought are for May 23 at 5:00, but I thought I was purchasing for April 25 at 5:00 which are not yet available for purchase. Are the tickets transferable? I can’t locate on the site that they are not. If so, does anyone need two tickets for May 23?
According to museum's main info site.....
https://galleriaborghese.cultura.gov.it/en/info/
..... tickets cannot be refunded or modified. As they are nominative - meaning they have your names on them - they are non-transferable. Also, from the FAQs on the ticketing site, https://www.ticketone.it/campaign/en/faq-tosc
"Can I change or cancel my order?"
"Unfortunately, tickets we have booked and confirmed on your behalf are binding at the time of placing the order and cannot be returned. The organisers, on whose behalf we operate, do not accept changes, transfers or cancellation of tickets.
We will warn you, very clearly, during the process of ordering your tickets that your order is binding."
(Edited to remove some since-revised stuff about April 25 ticket availability.)
Why would May be available for purchase but April not available for purchase?
Doesn’t make sense
Are you sure you purchased on the official site?
I'll agree that it's odd, Christine: see my updated post above noting that the official ticketing site lists April 25 tickets as "Soon Available." IMHO, I've a feeling that's a mistake.

Hi, Cynthia. I can't answer your question, but I'm guessing you meant March 23. You probably forgot to change the date from what was showing at the time. It's so easy to do, especially if you've looked at different options and then come back to that screen.
Good luck, and enjoy your trip, whatever happens with your tickets.
Maybe something to do with the April 25 holiday?
Kate, I too was surprised at the 'Soon Available' message for April 25 and am hoping that it is not a mistake but that I still have a chance. I did just listen to a RomeWise YouTube vlog that said sometimes same-day tickets are available, but I'll have to go there first thing that morning. If the 'Soon Available' is indeed a mistake, that will be my last resort.
Christine, thanks for your informative response. I did a quick search for that information but didn't find it. Could have been that I was (and still am) exasperated at myself for my error. Live and learn....
DOH! Yes, April 25th is a national holiday (Liberation Day) and a free day for the Borghese. Good catch, Christine! The website says:
https://galleriaborghese.cultura.gov.it/en/visita/info-biglietti/
"Admission tickets for institutional free days, such as the first Sunday of the month, 25 April, 2 June and 4 November, are available 10 days before the date. Admission is free of charge except for payment of the reservation fee, which is mandatory. Last-minute tickets are not available on these days."
Soooo, tickets should be available April 15th or so. Keep a sharp eye on the site as the date gets closer as I'm sure the tickets will be gone in minutes!
Kate, you're a godsend! I was just on the site, again, and didn't see that. I'm marking my calendar!
Regarding transferring of tickets, I downloaded my tickets and they do not have a name on them nor did I find anything stating that ID is required. Has anyone sold or bought tickets from an individual (not a third-party vendor)? If doable, they remain available for purchase.
The website is pretty clear about no transferring tickets
Sometimes we make mistakes. I certainly have. Chalk it up to experience and move on.
Words of wisdom, Carol. I'm tired of thinking about it.
Voting with Christine on trying to sell or transfer tickets, Cynthia. I guess you could contact ticketone/tosc.it and see what they say but I wouldn't personally try it otherwise. Scalping has been a big enough issue for the most-visited attractions that there are usually provisions in place these days to prevent it, such as checking IDs against nominative tickets as they do for the Colosseum. I thought Borghese tickets were nominative these days as well but maybe I'm in error.
