I-pod newbie

I just bought an ipod for my upcoming trip to Italy. What kind of converters/adapters do I need to take along? I have an adapter for my RAZR phone -- will that work for the ipod as well? Grazie tanto!

Terri,

As the previous post indicated, this is a topic that comes up quite frequently. However, a few points to clarify....

First, regarding the "adapter" for your RAZR Phone, I assume you're referring to a Euro Plug Adapter (two round pins)? It's important to verify the Input Voltage ratings on your Charger to ensure it's designed for operation on 220 VAC electrical systems (all of the Moto Chargers that I've used have been designed for "world operation").

Another point regarding the phone - which network are you with? That's an important consideration to ensure that the phone will even work in Europe.

I also travel with an I-Pod and the always take a "travel charger" along. The model I use is www.sonnettech.com/product/usbwallcharger.html (it's designed for "world operation" but a Plug Adapter will be needed).

Good luck and happy travels in Italy!

My recommendation is to go to Magellans website and use their Wizard for getting the correct adapter and transformer. It's a little bit of trouble (involved reading glasses and a magnifier to read the print on my charger cord) but I now know I will have the correct combination for my iPhone. Definitely don't want to inadvertantly zap it!
