in case of no free wifi - has anyone experienced buying a sim card in Italy for their ipad, or is that even possible?
I have been reading about data, voice, and texting plans from ATT that are good for 30 days. I am thinking about getting a plan for when I go to Italy in October. You might inquire with your provider and see what kind of international plans they have.
I have Sprint - called them -- they have no plan -- $19.00 per megabite. ouch. That's why I was asking about buying a sim card in Italy :)
If you're flying into Rome, this Ron in Rome article should help you: http://www.roninrome.com/transportation/purchasing-a-phone-or-sim-at-fco-airport
