I need help understanding travel restrictions

Like many other countries, Italy has designed a list systen to apply their Covid-19 restrcitions. Countries in List A, B (empty list as of today) and C can enter Italy without a specific reason and with little to no measures to follow after entering. Countries in List A are The Vatican and San Marino; in List C is included most of Europe.
List D countries are those with low epidemiological risk. Some of them are Canada, Thailand, New Zealand and the USA. Entry from these countries is also allowed without a specific reason, but some rules apply after entering if you have done transit or reside in a List E country in the 14 days prior. My questions is concerning that matter precisely. I live in a List E country (currently not allowed to visit for tourism), however, if the flight that takes me to Italy is departing from the United States, would I be allowed entry into Italy? It would br a scenario where I take a transit flight at an American airport. Is there anyone who knows if this is valid? I do not want to break any rules. Here are some useful links too:

I haven't read what you posted but if you live in a List E that is what applies to you. I I am a dual citizen and my flight to Italy (the second one) was from Amsterdam. I had to follow the rules for someone coming from the USA. Now, if you live in List E but spent several weeks in the USA.... that could be a different story. (I have gone back and forth to Italy 3 times during the past year and what mattered was that I was living in the USA). If you are a citizen of Italy or a family member of an Italian citizen that also would enable you to enter.

Are you vaccinated?

What country are you coming from? Don't assume you can come to the U.S.

If you are from an "E" country you must not have been in that or any other E country for 14 days prior to your arrival in Italy unless you have the proper visas. It also says you may not enter for tourist purposes. It all depends on where you reside.
