Hi we’re leaving for Naples from Montreal and arriving there on September 12th, we’re a couple in our 60s in ok shape. We love the beach, the historical and cultural side of the country, and relaxed / lazy evenings…. leaving from Rome on October 23rd, so 6 weeks.
We’re travelling by train.
Keeping in mind we don’t want to go to more than 5 - 6 places….(including Naples & Rome)
Can you please help us with an itinerary . Grazie
Certainly spend most of a week in the Naples area, Sorrento seems to be the favorite, from there you can get to Pompeii and Herculaneum, the Arch. Museum, the Amalfi coast, out to the islands, etc. Then of course leave most of a week for Rome.
However, between Naples and Rome directly, there is not much, so make a decision whether you want to go South or over to the other coast from Naples, then to Rome, or go North of Rome, doing the classic Florence/Venice stops, plus lots of other options.
Sicily for 2 weeks
Puglia for at least a week
Naples area 1 week
Rome 1 week
You have plenty of time for all of above plus some
My wife and I spent 3 weeks travelling in Italy in 2019. If we had had 6 weeks, we certainly would have spent more time in Sicily.
