As I plan our family trip to Germany, Austria , Switzerland and France this summer, I hear the wonderful echos of Italia- Summer of 2009 calling me back. It's hard not to return as it was so magical and perfect, we never wanted to come back to Boston. I hope that we fall in love with these countries, the way we did Italy. I know someday I will return - even though I did not have a coin the night we were at the Trevi fountain. Have a great summer exploring!!

Each country is so different. Yes italy is magical but so are the other places you are going. Enjoy your travels.

I feel your pain. Italy will always be my first love too. France is a close second though. For some reason, I threw coins to the Trevi 2 times this year. I bequeath one to you! Enjoy the rest of western Europe knowing you will be back. I hope you will visit Provence as it's my second fav next to the city destination of Rome.

Italy was my introduction to Europe and will always have a special place in my heart. There's something about that yellow Mediterranean sunlight and red-tiled roofs that no other place in Europe can touch.
