I’m overwhelmed by all the Florence day tours and tour companies

We want to do a wine/lunch tour from Florence is absolutely amazing and unforgettable. There are so many options that my head is spinning. And it’s almost 1000k for the 4 of us to do one of these day tours which shocked me! Does anyone have a recommendation of a tour and company that blew you away! Was a blast and once in a lifetime experience?

And when are you going? It's possible you are there at a particularly busy time so prices are higher. When you consider the cost of private transport (and guide?) plus winery/lunch costs, $250 per person sounds reasonable for a once in a lifetime experience (by my budget, anyway).

hey hey wscarroll
when are you planning this trip? day tours are expensive nowdays going to tuscany, many people all want the same thing. why are you so shocked at prices, they have gone up all over.
licensed drivers and guides have to follow strict regulations, provide insurance and safety to their clients, take classes and pass the italian tests, fluent in languages, passionate about the history/art/culture, wear and tear of their vehicle, gas, getting you into places many not allowed, how many hours is tour. it's the price you pay, you get what you pay for.

PS if you are there during a fair or festival GO!!!

there will be lots of eat drink and be merry, been to a few. bring small denominations of euros, wear comfy shoes
there's many more, people on the forum will jump in with others. if it's once in a lifetime, go for it. i would direct part of my paycheck into a "go go vacation account" every week (payday) and it was ready for me when we traveled. everyone is different, this is my own opinion. up to you to decide. enjoy & have fun

1000k ??? What currency ? Surely you aren’t using ‘k’ to be shorthand for thousands

I highly recommend Eleonora Catelani, https://www.florencearound.com/.

We have not specifically done a wine tour with her, but she does have expertise in wine and does wine tours. We have done two private tours with her and will be doing another later this year which will include towns outside of Florence and a winery stop.
She will work with you to customize an itinerary that suits your needs.

If you make your way to Bologna on the train, you should do the Italian Days tour. That definitely falls in the "was a blast" category, but it will set you back 1000 euros for four people.

They do other tours from Florence, but this one is THE one that everyone raves about.
