I just discovered Tripit.com - very excited about it!!

Have any of you used tripit.com? So far, I like that you can plug all of your itinerary details (lodging info, car rental info, tours, flight into, etc) into a template and then it organizes it into a chronological itinerary. If anyone has used the site and has discovered something cool about it, please share because it might be something that I'm not aware of yet!

Hi Doug. I DO NOT have any affiliation with that site and I'm sorry if I've offended you or anyone else. I was genuinely excited about the ability to put together a professional looking itinerary as opposed to my make-shift excel spreadsheet that I normally use. Someone on another trusted travel forum mentioned the site and that's how I discovered it and I thought I'd mention it on this site in case anyone is interested. People share ideas all the time on this site regarding specific tour companies, hotels, etc. Does everyone that praises a particular tour company or hotel necessarily work for them? Sorry again if I've offended anyone.

I've been reading about this site a lot of different places lately. I haven't myself tried it but I did bookmark it for when I start making more concrete plans for a trip this fall. Everything I've seen does seem pretty cool, though.

I love the site as well! It has definitely been up for more than two weeks. I've been using it for at least a few months, and it only seems to be getting better (supporting more and more sites). It would be neat to see it incorporate some features like Goplanit, where you can read attraction/restaurant reviews and add those in some general box with the addresses preset and everything. But, even as is, it is very convenient to have everything centralized!

The site has definitely been up for a while. I've read other literature about it.

Sheron, will be interested to hear what you think about it after using it.

I should have done a search before I made my latest topic about tripit. I had never heard of the website until they made an iphone app this week. I also got a response to my post about possible web marketing, which i was not doing...just excited like you.

Anyway, I do like the tripit site myself. I have everything loaded so far for my trip in July and now have the app on my iphone. I am very excited about not having to carry my usual folder with all my hotel and flight info in it.

I just looked at it and it looks great but it didn't have international destinations unless I am not reading it correctly. Can you tell me that?

Tripit.com was listed in a Travel and Leisure article as one of the best "overlooked travel Web sites that every traveler should know about."

The article also listed: unusualhotelsoftheworld.com; seriouseats.com; zicasso.com; lastminute.com; triporama.com

I used Tripit.com to organize an upcoming trip and think that it's great! Thanks for recommending it!

I am going to look at tripit.com. I just set up all of my information on Google Documents. (See the top line on the gmail page. Free to sign up.) It's set up in a calendar format, and you can customize the time/info categories for your day. What I like about using it is that you can access the information from any computer anywhere. You can also send an invite to others to either view your itinerary or include their own input (useful if you were planning a trip with other people).

Hmmm. No one else is bothered about having to turn over to tripit all of your flight, hotel, etc., info?

I haven't used tripit except for signing up and manually entering one flight just to see how it works, but I don't see what they would do with this information that could harm me? I don't think I'd forward them my confirmation emails because sometimes that has other personal information, and maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see where a problem would be with manually entering the information into one central place to help keep track of it in an organized manner.

George, I'm bothered by it as well. IMO tripit is simply a data mining service selling your buying habits to marketing companies for profit.

I did try it, but most of my hotels in Italy were not
in the system . But I love the ideal of one place vs all my e-mail print outs. Gina
