Has anyone travelled with their suitcases on the hydrofoil from Naples to Sorrento?
I understand we have to buy extra tickets for luggage in this situation.
Is it easy to get on and off the hydrofoil with wheeled suitcases? Stairs or ramps?
Thx

I didn't take the boat, but note that the marinas in Sorrento are very far below the elevation of the town. You have to take a public bus, a taxi, or a 2 Euro elevator ride to get to the main part of town. Some discount and group tour hotels are far up the hillside above the town. You can walk up the sidewalk from the marina, but it's a steep climb. I would beware of spurious extra taxi charges for marina pickup, but we only took a taxi from the Circumvesuviana station, which was 15 Euros for a very short ride.
The ferries are quite sophisticated, modern conveyances. I would expect a very flat gangplank, with small bump at the end.
I took in 2005 with luggage and two kids (11 and 7 years old). I don't recall any issues boarding or disembarking. Getting from the boat dock into town is the biggest challenge! It's a fun boat ride if the weather is decent. Great views!
Take the bus from Marina Piccola.
€1,50. Blue bus goes to Piazza Tasso. Orange bus to the Circumvesuvian station. The elevator does not work all the time and you still have a walk to the center (Piazza Tasso)
Do NOT do the walk up with luggage
That's pure insanity.
