How To Use This Forum Efficientlu

If I want to see discussions limited to a certain topic such as "Sorrento" or "train" for example is there a way to search the forum for specific topics? I hate to ask questions I know are already posted but slogging through all the posts is cumbersome. Thanks for any suggestions. Pam

Use the search facility at the top. A magnifying glass and the word "Search". Type in "Sorrento" over the word "Search" and hit enter.
It's not Google, but it works.

But, if you are looking for your posts, click on your name, and on the next page click on "View Topics pamelapattysmith Has Participated In", and you get a list.

And speaking of Google, I find that often works better. I enter my search terms in Google, then when I get the results (often an avalanche of unrelated links), I click the gear on the upper right of the page, then choose "Advanced Search." I ask it to search for results on ricksteves.com, and that limits the responses to this website.

For terms like Sorrento, it will still return a ton of posts. But it's great for something more specific. For instance, if I'm trying to find my posts on trains to Sorrento, I'll Google "Harold trains Sorrento," then ask it to limit it to ricksteves.com, and that usually gets the post I'm searching for.
