So I did try to Google for trains/buses from CT to Venice, but could not find any. Do you have any idea if there is a direct transport between the places? Thanks

Yes, there are definitely trains from the Cinque Terre to Venice. When searching routes, you'll have to use the name of whichever of the five Cinque Terre towns you'll be staying in. The Cinque Terre is not a destination so doesn't have a station.
There are two main routes from the C.T. to Venice, either through Milan or through Florence. I generally find that the route through Florence is a bit faster. One or more train changes will be required.
You can research all the solutions using the Trenitalia or Bahn.de websites. Note that schedules may change about 12 June, so information beyond that date may not be shown yet.
