How to organize Gondola ride, Venissa and Murano and Burano

My son and I will be in Venice on his 13th birthday later this month. He has specifically requested a gondola ride on his birthday. I decided to also make this our big splurge restaurant for the trip and booked lunch at 13:30 at Venissa on Mazzarbo. I had already planned this to be our day to see Murano and Burano.

I would appreciate any suggestions for how to organize these activities around that 13:30 lunch reservation. We have nothing planned late the night before so we can get up and head out early if that makes the most sense.

Should we head out to Murano and then Burano and then Mazzarbo for lunch? Then return to Venice for a late afternoon gondola ride? Or should we do the gondola in the morning and then go straight to Mazzarbo and then go to Murano and Burano? Other thoughts?

Thank you!

I think I would go with the first option, doing the Gondola late afternoon, even in the evening hours. Bit cooler, maybe some of the crowds will have diminished.

I too, would get up early and go to Burano and Murano. Then have your lunch. The gondola ride will be a relaxing end to your day :)

A gondola ride is magical in the evening. I'd suggest doing it then and enjoying your lunch and sightseeing earlier during the day. Happy Birthday to your son!

murano and burano can both be done in one morning and early afternoon. Mostly shopping. glass products in one island and lace and colorful stores in the other.
