How to link tickets to Trenitalia app

Hello,
I bought train tickets on the Trenitalia website. I did not register when I purchased them. I downloaded the Trenitalia app today and registered. I see how to retrieve tickets (I have all the codes) - however, I don't see how to save them to the app. Any suggestions?

Should I just print the tickets with the QR codes?

Or I see the option to add the tickets to Google Wallet. (I have an android phone.)

Thanks!

Hi MIckey. Any method where you can access the info is fine. You don't need to access the tix from the app. Either just save the PDFs to your phone, and/or print them out; either is fine. Have a great trip!

If you go to My Journeys in the app there should be a green "Retrieve Another Ticket" button. Using this you can retrieve the ticket from the system using a couple of different ticket, order code numbers and potentially your email.

If you can get the right combo if information for either of these methods you should be able to add tickets purchased not through the app into the app. Check the email or your tickets for these pieces of information.

Hope that helps,

On the Retrieve Ticket form under My Journeys, is there a slider switch at the bottom next to a label that says Save in My Journeys/Saved Tickets - it's right above the search bar?

You can also add the ticket to Google Wallet - it would then be retrievable even if you lose connectivity - although this may not work for Regionale tickets.

Thanks to each of you for help! I found the slider button to save the tickets.

Is it ok for just me to have the train tickets on the app on the phone....or do my husband and daughter need to download the app and put the tickets on their phones too?

If you are checked the conductor will come by with a scanner and scan each of the QR codes for each of the tickets as you scroll through them. One person holding the tickets for the entire party is fine - I often do this both for myself and my wife. Regionale tickets - local tickets without seat registrations need to be validated no later than 1 minute before departure. Having one person manage this for multiple tickets is probably easier than checking to make sure everyone has done it everytime.

For the paranoid: people have reported not having data cell service or WiFi for some reason when asked for the tickets has caused them difficulty using the app. You can also screenshot each ticket for a trip just to also have them available without phone service and then delete them after you arrive if you're a belt and suspenders kind of person.

Have a great trip,
