So far I am hearing the best way to get to Ovindoli is by bus, that the trains take to long. So I guess we go from Rome to L'aquila? My question is what is the name of the train station in L'aquila that we stop at. What is the best way to get to Ovindoli from L'aquila? Also, can we rent cars in Ovindoli? Thanks!

1. The fastest is to drive a car (about 1h 30 min) 2. The second fastest is the train (about 2 hrs).
Take a train from Roma Tiburtina to Celano-Ovindoli. Then from the Celano station take a bus or taxi to the village of Ovindoli itself which is about 14 km (15 min drive), from the station in Celano. If you go to L'Aquila it's going to take you all day. L'Aquila is on top of plateau and the train to get there has to go to Terni and Rieti first, so it's double the time.

Note that Roberto said 'Tiburtina', NOT 'Termini' station!
