after some research, I still can't figure out if it's better to get to the parking lot for climbing Mt Vesuvius from the Ercolano Scavi stop or the Pompeii Scavi stop, We will be coming from Naples... and this will happen in the next couple days. There seems to be differing opinions, so I would like to hear from someone who has done this recently. thanks

They recommend Ercolano Scavi, Pompeii Scavi is quite a ways away maybe those choosing that option are doing it for "context" not necessarily the best route.
