Hello Travelers!
Our flight to Dallas via Fankfurt leaves Venice Marco Polo Airport at 7:20am. I am thinking that I need to arrive at the airport by 5:20am. We are only in Venice for one night (arriving in Trieste off a cruise). Any Advice on the best place to stay where I can easily catch transportation to the airport at 4:30am?

The first bus leaves at 4:20 from Piazalle Roma and is 4:40 at the airport so any hotel near should do. Alternatively you can probably book a taxi boot (you or your hotel for you) but that is expensive.

There is a Courtyard by Marriott near the Venice Airport. Not sure if they provide transportation as I haven't stayed there.
If you don't want to try to get the bus, you could splurge for a private launch.

Mon-Sat there is the No. 5 bus from Piazzale Roma at 4:35 am getting to the airport at 4:56 am. On Sunday the first bus is at 5:40 am. Cost is 8 EUR per person. You can also get a land taxi at Piazzale Roma for about 35 EUR. You can also get a water taxi from the nearest canal access point to your hotel (could be at your hotel if it has its own dock) for about 135 EUR.
There are many hotels walking distance from Piazzale Rome that still have the feel of Venice, mostly in Santa Croce.

You can reserve water taxies most any time. I have done this from Murano.

We have been to Venice two times. Both times we had a very early flight to Dallas. Both times I was stressed about getting to Marco Polo very early. We arrived so early the first time the airport was closed and we couldn't even get in! Once we took a land taxi and once we took the bus. Both left from Piazza Roma and worked fine.

I would stay at an airport hotel. Reduce your stress.
