Does anyone know my best, fastest and cheapest way to get from my Florence BandB to Florence airport? What time does airport check in open? I can easily walk to Florence/SNM train station if needed. I used VOLAINBUS to arrive but I do not think they operate at 5am. How much is a taxi? Thank you in advance!

The Amerigo Vespucci airport is not large. You shouldn't have the typical 2-3hr check-in that you do at Rome and other large airports. Plus, you are not flying out of the EU from Florence so its considered and in-EU domestic flight. A bit easier on the check-in. We flew into Florence from Frankfurt and the taxi fare in to the hotel was 25E plus a couple extra for luggage. BTW, the Volainbus' first departure out of the SITA bus terminal is at 5:30am according to their website.

I just had my hotel arrange a cab for pickup in Florence at 5 a.m. The cab came right on time and we were at the airport in 10-15 minutes. It was around 30 Euro. You'll have no problems.

We did the same and asked our hotel to arrange for a taxi the night before. I must admit I was a little nervous because our hotel did not have 24 hour desk service. The owner assured us not to worry that the taxis were very reliable but gave us his cell number just in case to call if they were more than 10 minutes late. He lived on the premises. But the taxi came promptly at 5 AM. Our cost was 23 euro for 3 people and 3 bags. As stated above we arrived in 20 minutes with loads of time to spare.
