How to get from Siena to Pisa

Any great ideas on how to travel from Siena to Pisa? Family of four going. Thanks!

I'm not sure it's much help, but in a thread I posted a few weeks ago, this is the response in getting to Siena from Florence. Not sure if it'd be easier than direct from Pisa:

"Siena is lovely in May. If you choose Siena take the bus and not the train. The express bus from Firenze to Siena is actually faster and puts you off right in the middle of the historic city. The trains station is actually outside of the Siena."

"SITA buses leave from behind, or next to main train station in Florence. It's been awhile since I was there, so don't recall exact orientation, other than bus departures being quite close to train station.

The train runs from Siena to Pisa do not go through Florence. You change trains at Empoli. CLICK HERE to see a typical morning run.

Still, you can take the SITA bus to Florence and then the train to Pisa if you wish. There is also a bus run from Siena to Pisa airport. I don't know if the bus stops in Pisa first. Be careful of bus runs if you travel on Sundays. Not as many runs.
