how to get from Fiumicino airport hilton garden hotel to Ostia Antica besides taxi?

Ostia Antica is very near the airport. Are you sure it is expensive? We visited in our rental car before dropping it off and staying at Hilton FCO.

I think the €50 taxi rate must be into Rome.? Taxifarefinder for Rome says €13+ from the airport to Ostia Antica. A little over 12 km away.

Were you looking on rome2rio for your information? If you click on the bus #2 it will bring up a new screen with operator details, a Web page, and ticket information. When I open the Web page, Google automatically translates it into English.

yes, that is exactly what I was looking up, bus #2 and that site you mention, google translated it, but after that it was just frozen and would not do anything. I'll try again. But if the taxi fee is as you say, that is not bad at all. So we look forward to that easier ride to go to Ostia Antica, which is supposed to be pretty interesting.

Just in case you're planning to visit on a Monday, be aware that Ostia Antica is closed on Mondays.
