How to get from Colosseum to Trastevere?

Hi! Our Colosseum tour will end at 12:30pm on a Saturday, which gives us an hour and a half to make our 2:00pm lunch reservation in Trastevere. I know there are trams and buses - can anyone help with directions? Google Maps is letting me down on this one! Thanks!

You could walk that distance. I've done it before. However, it would be helpful to know where in Trastevere you are headed to.

Agreed. If you're reasonably ambulatory, you could easily walk it. If not, take a cab.

Ride the 87 or 571 bus to Largo Argentina, jump off and catch the #8 tram. Go across the bridge (Ponte Garibaldi) on the tram and you're on Via Trastevere. Or you can also cach the #3 bus (on the backside of the Colosseo) and it ends at the Roma Trastevere train station.... The ATAC website can give you all these routes - On the ATAC homepage, look in the center of the page for "trova linea" in a red bar. Just below this, insert a bus number and it can show you all the routes, and all the stops! This link may help you as it has pictures taken in Largo Argentina **http://tinyurl.com/rome-bus ***

With the new information you've given, I definitely suggest a taxi. They're pretty reasonable within Rome proper, especially for four people. You need to find a taxi stand and get in line, and there should be several around the Colosseum. I'm guessing it would cost you about ten euros total.

In google maps I entered "colosseum, rome" and then directions to "Trastevere, Lazio, Italy", selected the walk icon above and it says about 40-42 minutes walking. Knowing the exact address you need to get to would provide better info.

Trastevere is a big neighborhood. You could be 25 minutes or an hour away on foot.

Thanks, y'all! We will have a senior and a six-year-old with us, so we're not all that ambulatory. ;) I went on the ATAC site, but is that #3 a bus or a tram? I thought it was a tram.
