How to Get Around in Positano

Hi everyone,

We are staying in Positano and I just want to ask some general questions as to how to get around the Amalfi coast.

I know there are options such as (1) public transportation and (2) ferries. What about taxis? I'm not used to traveling to an area that doesn't have Uber. Are there taxis stands that we would walk to in order to get a taxi? Are there any apps (similar to Uber) where you can request a taxi right there and then? Or, do you have to reach out to taxi companies and say "I want to be picked up on Thursday at this time" type of situation?

In addition, what about driving around yourself, or even renting a bicycle? I've heard you need an international driver's license to drive a car, but I know people who rented scooters and drove around the coast that way, and they didn't need an international driver's license. I just wanted to get some opinions on how it is driving around there yourself.

Thank you!

It's a small village, so there won't be the taxi companies like in a city. There are private limo drivers that you must book in advance.

There are a few places where you can rent a scooter or a e-bike in Positano. You can google it and find them.
For scooters over 50cc you will need your drivers' license and an IDP. Not sure for a moped under 50cc.
