short of calling the Uffizi to change the date of our reservation to tour the museum, (email has not been useful)

Their policy before you buy the ticket and maybe on the ticket confirmation says: No refunds will be given in case of cancellation by the user or wrong purchase. Furthermore, no refunds will be given for purchased but unclaimed tickets. Confirmed reservations cannot be modified
