How to access text messages to original iphone number while using Orange Holiday

Hello,
I purchased and installed the Orange Holiday $50 esim (software) to use while traveling on a 6 day sojourn to Italy. I bank with Chase and they no longer allow you to tell them specifically that you are traveling internationally and will be using your cards. Rather, they are please to inform you not to worry, that you are perfectly safe and their fraud alert system will text you with concerns.

As I understand it, I cannot receive text messages on my iphone sent to its original number while I am using my Orange Holiday esim French phone number.

How do people deal with this?

Thanks,

Judy

I’m in Italy and installed a Vodafone esim and I am getting messages to my US number, I have t-mobile. On the settings of the phone, I selected my US number to “Send & Receive” messages.

Before I left, I made sure everyone I cared about had WhatsApp and we’re connected with me on WhatsApp. They can text and call me on that even though I have an Italian number for the time I am here in Italy. (TIM SIM card, 3 months for €42)

If you aren't worried about being charged an excessive amount by your home telephone provider, I'm sure you can continue to receive texts to that number. I have an Android phone, so I can't tell you exactly what to do, but when I Googled for the instructions I needed last year, I saw information for iPhone users as well. It will be very simple.

I live in Canada and and my credit card and bank have the option to send activity messages to my email address instead of by text. Maybe that is an option.
