How time to visit Pisa?

Good afternoon good people!

Can anyone give me their opinion on how much time is enough time to visit Pisa? We're planning to train in around 11:30AM, hit Campo di Miracoli to see the major sites, grab a light lunch and then head out. Would you say that three hours or so is enough - including getting to and from the campo from the train station?

Thanks!
Becky

There's not much to Pisa other than the Field of Miracles. Three hours was more than enough for us. (We were just there two weeks ago.) Be sure to go inside the Baptistery (the round domed building in front of the cathedral) and wait until the security guard sings - should be no more than a 15 minute wait. It's worth it. Seriously.

The cathedral is also pretty amazing. (The cemetery is optional, IMHO.)

You'll need reservations to climb the tower, but we chose not to go up.

It'll take you some time to get to and from the train station and then to have lunch. So three hours is a little tight if you're counting from arrival by train to departure. Also, that's not enought time if you want to climb the tower. But I wouldn't devote much more time.

Pisa is more than just the Leaning Tower. In and around the Field of Miracles are for buildings that have been called one of the finest architectural complexes in the world: the leaning Tower, the Duomo, the Battistero, and the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo. The highlights of the Duomo are the west front and the Pulpit of Pisano (inventor of Paisano wine).

If you are walking in and out as well as having lunch, I would estimate 4.0hrs. If you take the bus in from the train station and no lunch, 3.0hrs would be OK. The Duomo and baptistery are really striking. Both are right next to the tower.
