How soon to purchase bus passes and flight

Hello All, My husband and I will be going from Rome to Siena and Siena to Pisa and flying to Paris in October. From what I have learned it will be best to take a bus between the places. How soon should I purchase bus passes. Is that something good to do before hand? Also, flying from Easy Jet right now there is only one flight listed for the day I need it. IS that something I should reserve pretty early? It looks like my purse would count as a carry on then I would need to check the rest. Is there a baggage limit for buses? I am mainly concerned getting to Pisa in time for our flight. How soon should I plane to arrive before the flight? Thank you all for your help!

Tiffany, if you're thinking of carrying 44 pounds or more of stuff, I think Rick Steve's recommendation is a good one... pack it all up, and go for a long walk around Austin (including some hills and stairs), being sure to bring along any extras you'll bring on your trip (purse, separate carryon, book, etc). You may well decide you can get along with a lot less. (And remember that any purchases along the way will add to the weight.) I've done a month, in cold and wet weather, with less than 20 pounds. Fleece is great and weighs nothing, and paired with a quality rainproof shell (eg, camping quality from REI) it will keep you warm and dry. My walking shoes are black, and I've worn them, with nice pants and accessories, to good restaurants, Paris opera, etc. It's not something I'd do at home, but I've never had anyone object. If you find you need something, you can pick it up in Europe. (But although it's easy to buy umbrellas on the street whenever it rains, they are really bad quality and die quickly; so I do bring a tiny collapsible umbrella.)

Tiffany, for the Easyjet flight book as early as possible. The fares increase as you get closer to the travel date. For the bus from Rome to Siena, you can also book this online but you can also easily buy these tickets at the bus station adjacent to the Rome-Tiburtina train station. I believe that you can even buy from the driver. www.sena.it will get you to the bus website. 23Euro is the fare.

http://www.pisa-airport.com/index.php?lang=_en&id_sect=196 See above for bus options Siena to PSA. http://www.sena.it/Home/78-1-en.html
See above for buses Roma Siena From Rome to Siena there are also plentiful of train options via Florence or via Chiusi, therefore I wouldn't worry too much. There are no baggage limits for buses or trains. But airlines do have limits above which baggage fees apply. Yes book your flight early to secure good prices. You need to be at PSA on time to conclude check in procedures by 45 min prior to departure. Be at the airport 75 min prior to departure. Check the bus schedule above to know when to depart from Siena.

Thanks all I will get my tcikets today. As far as luggage I have no idea how much it will weigh. It will be my husband and I in October. We will try to pack light but I have never been. It says we can have 20kg per customer for bags. I am guessing that is for our checked bags. It looks like that is about 44 pds. Is it recommended to buy more?

Tiffany for your own comfort, pack as lightly as you can, I don't care if you are going for 2, 3 or 4 weeks, every pound you pack you will carry ,everywhere..
For Easyjet I just shoved my purse inside my shoulder bag carry on. They are strict about baggage, they don't just over look it a bit ..buy the checked bag option when you book your tickets, its more expensive to buy it at airport. Also did you check to see if Vueling flys the day you want, they allow a carry on and a purse and are a good budget airline too.

Thank you. Yes I did and they are not flying out on the day I need. It looks like most of the buses do not yet have schedules for October. So I will check back with those.

Oh I want to take as little as possible but it will be my husband and I so I wasnt sure how it all worked. We booked and went ahead and added one checked bag. I figure I will take one pair of comfy walking shoes for everyday then one extra pair. We will only be there 11 days so we should be fine. I need to learn to be a good packer!
