How noisy and/or "busy" is Dorsoduro in the evening?

I understand that this neighborhood is subdued and quiet during the daytime but that at night it becomes quite animated, even crazy at night, with a large number of people coming for the nightlife centering around the Campo Santa Margherita. Can anyone who has spent time staying here comment on this?

We have stayed a bunch of times in Dorsoduro, about ten times in all. Campo Margherita can be busy at night, fun too. A quite lively younger group congregate there - oldies like us aged 75 still find it welcoming.

Move away more than 100 metres from Campo M and it very quiet. Our last visit was four weeks half way down Calle Lunga San Barnaba, no noise issues.

A bit more advice re Dorsoduro.
On a map, draw a line from Piazale Roma to the San Basilio vaporetto stop. Don’t stay much west of the line, it’s a pretty boring part of Venice.
Also on the map, don’t stay east of the Guggenheim, that part of Venice towards the Salute is dead, no bars or cafes.
