How much time for connections at Rome Airport on international arrival?

How much connection time should I allow for flying into Rome on a Delta Airlines flight and then taking a flight to Catania on Sicily? Our flight from America arrives at 7:10 A.M. and we'll have no checked baggage to claim.

That is a toss up. It all depends on quick you can get through immigrations. On our last trip to Rome, we arrived later morning and took over an hour and half to get through immigrations. Several airplanes in at the same time. It could be a walk through or it could be a couple of hours. I would allow at least two hours and maybe three. And then you will have security again for the flight to Sicily.

I'd go with the very first one at 8:10am, one hour after your arrival.
If your plane is late, Alitalia (which is a Delta partner with the SkyTeam) will put you on the next one available (there is another at 9:25am and then one at 10:05am)
The above are for the winter schedule (I don't know when you are going), but they shouldn't change much if you go later in Summer. If anything there could be more flights.
