I'm planning a trip to Italy for late April and was wondering how many days I should dedicate to Cinque Terre. I'd like to relax there and since it seems like hiking the trail is the big attraction, not sure if 2 days is enough or should I go for 3? Any advice or other ideas for activities would be greatly appreciated.
Whether the hiking trails will be open in April or not, is a big IF.

I think 3 nights is adequate (that would give you 2 full days plus some hours on the day of arrival and on the day of departure).
Besides hiking, you can kayak, bike from Levanto to Framura, take boats (or train) from village to village, visit the villages and take photos, sunbathe and swim at the beach (especially Monterosso), eat and drink at restaurants, take a day trip to Portofino (via train + bus).
What does "2 days" mean? 2 full days, or do you arrive sometime on the morning of the 1st day and leave sometime in the afternoon of the 2nd?
Right now I have one full day and one half day. Was asking if that's enough or should I stay another night to get two full days and a half. Is rain a big issue in April? We would be there late April, 21-24
One and a half days is enough time to visit all or several of the five towns, so the question may be how much relaxing you need in the mix.
JD,
Two days should be enough if you just want to briefly see the five towns and do a bit of hiking. However, three days would provide more time for both touring and relaxation. I think once you see the area, you'll agree that three days is about right.
One point to note is that not all of the popular Sentiero Azzurro trails may be open during your visit. Some segments may be closed due to storm damage, so you'll need to check just prior to your trip, or ask your hotel staff when you arrive. If you're an avid hiker, there's an extensive network of other trails there as well so there are lots of hiking possibilities.
Awesome. Thanks for the comments and advice everyone. You're the best.
