I want to take a day trip to Siena from Florence but I want to keep based in Florence. I read the night life in Siena is very beautiful. Is it doable to stay later and make it back to Florence ?
What I see on trainline.eu , is last train leaving Siena at 940PM
As best I can tell from rome2rio.com, last bus leaves at 845PM
Perhaps others here have other/better info.
Siena is a very popular day trip from Florence and thus becomes very crowded during the day.
If you have the time, do consider staying at least an overnight in Siena.
If visiting Siena as a day trip, it’s best to travel by bus since the bus “station” will be closer to the city center.
The train station is a bit farther (and downhill) from the city center.
You can check train schedules on Trenitalia.com. It looks like the last train departs at 9:40pm.
Enjoy your trip!
You catch the bus in Florence out the side door of the train station--to the right of McDonalds. The buses line up on the side street and behind McDonalds. It's the preferable way to get to Siena since their train station is on the outskirts of the city.
Thank you for the helpful information.
