how late do ferries run in Lake Como in October?

We have 7:30 dinner reservations in Bellagio on 6 Oct. We are staying in Varenna. Will we be able to get back to Varenna after dinner on the ferry?

kcdav, I can't help you with your question. However, I would like to ask you what hotel you are staying at in Varenna. We will be in Varenna next May for 4 nights. We don't have reservations yet. But what I gather from my preliminary research is that the hotels in Varenna are pricey.
Thank you!

We last stayed in Bellagio a few years ago, and there were no late night ferries then. We were there in late September and around 7:30 to 8:00pm was the latest.

We ended up having lunch in other towns, and returning to Bellagio for dinner.

This year we are staying in Varenna and will do the same then.

Thank you Deb H,

May I ask why you chose to stay in Varenna this trip?

I contacted the restaurant where we have dinner reservations on October 6 and they have assured me ferries run until 11pm.

When we visited last time we wanted to stay in Varenna, but for some reason that I can't remember we ended up deciding on Bellagio.

While we absolutely loved our stay, the hotel we stayed at is undergoing a major renovation and none of the others there really grabbed me.

We spent a day in Varenna and it was gorgeous, and there I have found a hotel very similar to the Bellagio one - we want a large room with a full terrace, not just a balcony, overlooking the lake. Last time we stayed at the Hotel Metropole in Bellagio, and this time the same room style at Hotel du Lac in Varenna.

Another reason is simply to change things up a little, we only have four nights, so a different town and we'll do different things this time.

As for the ferries, I just looked up the timetable and there are none listed past about 8pm. There are car ferries however, although they don't seem to go to Tremezzo. We never caught one of those last time though, so I really don't know for sure.

Interesting that you have your reservation for 6 October, that is our 40th Wedding Anniversary. I assume that it is similar for you if you have reservations organised for that night.

Congratulations on your 40th anniversary. We are not celebrating anniversary, but we are having dinner at a restaurant in Bellagio that a friend from home recommended, he knows the owner. Ristorante Salice Blu.
