How is the weather in Italy in March ,April and May
Hi Kid, We were in Venice, Florence, Rome, Pompeii, and the Almalfi Coast for two weeks starting in the middle of May. The weather was mostly pleasant in the 70's and on a couple occasions in the 80's. We had a couple stormy rainy days that lasted about a half day each. We really liked the weather and would travel again in May if we have a chance. The weather in Pompeii was glorious on the day we went. I recommend packing a poncho, as umbrellas didn't seem to work well when it is windy. Happy travels!

Use wunderground.com and put in which town you want and the date you want and they will show you what has happened in that place and date for many years ago. Italy is a long country with Alps at one end and Sicily at the other. How's the weather on the east coast of the US in March, April and May? If you will be there for the full 3 months watch out for visa problems if you are counting on using a Schengen visa waiver...
Spring is the best weather in Italy. Not too hot, not too cold. March is very unpredictable. It's generally not cold but sometimes it can be. It is the wettest month after November. April is also variable, but warmer and less wet. May is the best. Warm and generally dry.
Note however that there are variations depending if you travel to the North or Central and Southern Italy. Also there are considerable variations depending on altitude. March/April in the Alps is still cold and probably snowy.
Most of the time it is OK, sometimes not so good, and occasionally awful. I personally think that late September, Oct is the best - dry and warm. Probably not a lot different than Everson at the same time.
In March, April and May you could get three different seasons, depending on your location. March can be brisk to cold, April is usually pleasant but sweaters are common, especially at night, and May can relapse into cooler temperatures or provide a good soaking rain. Location is key. Further south is warmer but altitude is a factor as well.
