How hot is puglia in the first week of September?

We are thinking of spending the first week of september in puglia. But I am concerned about how hot is will be.
Is it unpleasant to be there then?
Is it a dry heat?

should we postpone going to that part of italy at that time?
are many hotels/B&Bs airconditioned?

alain,

I've found that even northern Italy can be fairly hot at that time of year, so I suspect that Puglia will be the same or warmer. It may be unpleasant but I wouldn't hesitate to go there if I had the opportunity. Pack some good sun block and a hat, and be sure to get a hotel with air conditioning.

.......hot ...........

it doesn't matter if many hotels or B&Bs (in Puglia?) are air conditioned. It only matters if yours is.

Ask and they will say. But you may find the standard of a/c different than in LA.

It will be hot. Would that stop you going to Bakersfield in the summer? At least there are the Puglia beaches - can't say that for the Central Valley.

Comparing Bakersfield to Puglia is a bit much to bear, even for people in Taranto (and Taranto is really ugly)
