How far in advance can I buy tickets to main attractions?

I’m planning for our Easter 2019 trip to Rome, Florence, and Venice. On most of the main attraction websites, I don’t see tickets available for booking that far in advance. However, it looks like I can book tours that far out with places like Walks, Roman Guy, etc. Am I missing something, or is it because I’m using my phone instead of laptop to search?

Thank you for your help!

It wouldn't surprise me if 2019 tickets aren't available yet. It's common for prices to be adjusted upward, most likely in January. Maybe some places haven't set the 2019 ticket prices yet.

If you tell us a few of the places you're looking at, one of us with access to a desktop computer can take a look for you.

There are plenty of tickets available thru scalpers and guides no mater where you go! I would suggest for you to wait and start looking maybe 2-3 weeks before your trip.
** In Rome, If you are planning to go to the Vatican City, Vatican museum (Sistine chapel) and St. Peter's Basilica, Easter could be though. We came back last week from Italy (VFR), and I reserved our time at Vatican museum eight days before getting to Rome (last leg of our trip). We purchased 'Roma Pass' and most places such as colosseum, we literally walked right in (NO reservation), even though there were huge lines outside colosseum and tons of guides offering their services and fast entry with them. ** In Florence, the official Accademia Museum site showed it was sold out weeks in advance, however !!! , there were plenty of tickets available online, a little bit more (5 Euro), for any day and time thru other sites. If you want to climb the Duomo's dome, figure out what day of the week you are there, their reservation fills out fast specially on weekend. I would suggest you make your reservation 3-4 days in advance.
** In Venice, we bought tickets directly at the sights, and walked right in. No online reservation and no long lines.

Good luck with your planning and trip

There are places for which 2 or 3 weeks in advance may not be early enough: The Domus Aurea, the Vatican Scavi Tour, the special-access tour of the Colosseum, the Borghese Gallery. And that's just in Rome.

Thanks, everyone. Since it will be Easter,
I thought we needed to plan far in advance and buy as early as possible for the major sites because of the huge crowds-Colosseum, St Peters, Vatican Museums, Borghese Gallery, Forum, Pompei, etc. Same for Florence. I will keep checking to see when April becomes available to book. I just don’t want to get anxious about not having anything booked and as the trip gets closer, start to panic and book an overpriced tour or overpriced ticket. :)

Were also going the week before Easter. I believe the tickets for The special masses/services at St. Peter’s are available now but I can’t find any other sites that offer tickets now.

Most official sites will book about 60 days ahead of time. Those companies that are offering tickets now are "hoping" they can acquire these tickets when they become available. If they can't they either cancel your reservation or change the time of it so that can play havoc with the rest of your trip.

Just wait and buy through the official websites. You don't mention which sites you wish to visit so it's hard to give specifics.
