How far ahead to book things like Uffizi and the dome in Florence

Title says in all, how far in advance do you usually need to book these things? I know do it as soon as possible is of course always typically a good idea, but... So far I have booked all the things I can refund up until right before the trip. Just the non refundable stuff left. Currently dealing with a small plantar plate tear in my foot (doc seen it on MRI last month after an injury and didn't tell me about that particular thing because it was supposedly too small to worry about.. but I made it worse anyway just moving around my house somehow T_T ) So TBD on how badly I did or healing time or if I'll be up to walking all over the city or even from airport to accommodations by then, trip may wind up ruined. So just want to get an idea of when I need to start worrying about making the call if I should chance booking the remaining parts of the trip or not.

You don't mention Accademia but if you don't book that in advance you probably will have to wait in the day of sale line or buy from a tour operator. I take visitors frequently to Florence and always book the Uffizi way in advance since I try and coordinate several sites on the same day and have preferred times for some of them. To climb the dome I also schedule in advance but not as far out. Hopefully you will be able to walk around and to take your trip.

That's really too bad about your foot injury! Hopefully it works out, gosh.

Linda, May I ask what are your preferred times of day for booking the Uffizi & the Academia? Will add it to my Florence wish list!

Normally I would not bother with a third-party ticket vendor, but in this case I would recommend GetYourGuide.com
You can cancel for a full refund with 24 hours notice.
They are a legit company - I purchased uffizi tickets without a problem before.

In my experience, the Accademia sells out a few weeks in advance - because it is a small museum.

Good luck with your healing!

My husband and I are not into art museums but i did book academia for our Oct. trip so we can see David. What wonderful must see things will we miss out on if we dont go to Uffizi? If we add that museum, how long should we allow to hit the highlights?
