Hi folks, Delta just canceled our return flight and rebooked us through AMS departing Rome at 6:10 am tomorrow morning.
Does anyone have an idea how early we need to be at the airport for a 6:10 am flight that connects through Amsterdam?

I would say 4 am is probably fine

Delta rebooked us on KLM so I’ll check with them.
Our flight to Europe on KLM was canceled due to a one day strike and we got rebooked on Air France. One can have travel issues in any season and we have found issues both flying to Europe and flying home.

If you connect in Amsterdam, you will not be boarding a Delta flight at FCO. it will be a KLM flight, Delta's partner.

You will actually be flying with KLM (the flight number is KL 1600) to Amsterdam.
The flight is in code share with Delta (Delta flight number is DL 9506), since Delta and KLM are partners, however you will check in at the KLM desk as the operator is KLM.
For intra Europe Schengen flights (Amsterdam, NL is part of Schengen area) the airlines (including KLM) recommend to check in 2 hours prior to departure, therefore you should try to be there at around 4:10 am.
90 min prior should also be ok, but if you are there 2 hours ahead, you won't stress.

Thanks for those tips. Yes, with KLM I’ll stay in Schengen so I’ll look to get to FCO two hours early to avoid any more stress.
