How dry/wet is Venice in March? Moisteurizing cream superfluous?

I'll be in Venice for three weeks starting Wednesday. I hear it is rainy in March (as well as the city being in a lagoon). Can I assume I will not need to bring a skin moisturizer, such as Eucerin cream? I have dry skin, especially dry feet, which crack easily. I came back from a month in Kathmandu, where it didn't rain the entire month. So I'm trying to exercise caution.

If you decide you need a moisturizer once you’re there, you can easily obtain some from a farmacia.

Even if it’s not rainy, it could be humid. You’ll have no problem finding lotion if you need it.

The official humidity in Venice in March is listed at 75% for what that's worth.

You will pay a heavy premium for buying non-medicinal products at a farmacia versus a market or beauty store. My wife and I referred to the small tube of hand lotion from the farmacia as our "nine euro lotion" for the rest of the trip. If you really want the expert advice or need it right now it may be worth it but if you just want lotion buy it anywhere else.

Venice is amazing - have a great trip,

better to take it and not need it than hunt around in pain if you need it and don't have it. Relative humidity will make relatively no difference to dry skin. Experience speaking in England with the highest rainfall on record in February and having dry itchy skin which requires cream regardless.

If, like me, you have not only dry skin but also various allergies and sensitivities, take your own skin lotion --- I have not (so far) been able to find scent-free products in Italy, not in lip balm, Aveeno lotions, sunscreen, soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, or even hypoallergenic baby products.

I'm so glad you are spending three weeks in Venice! That's how long I've spent there total, a week at a time, and I could still visit for another three weeks, at least.

Do you use it at home? If so, I would bring. If not, I would not.

I live in Florida where it is humid. When I go to Colorado to visit my son, I need to have lip balm and body lotion which I don't use at home because so much lower humidity. But for most places I go, it is not an issue.

Just take it. Skin reacts to weather changes in so many ways. You may need it the first few days post airplane environment (very dry), not for a few days, and then again if your skin starts to complain again. Decant into something smaller....or, change to a lighter lotion rather than cream. I never travel anywhere without facial moisturizer at the very least.

Kathmandu sits about 4500ft or 1400m
Venice sits at sea level, surrounded by a lagoon.
There's a pretty dramatic difference not just in weather patterns but, also the humidity of each region.

If you normally moisturize when at home, than bring your necessary products. Venice is not a remote, isolated part of the world as there's plenty of beauty supply and pharmacies available. If you're particular about what you use, best to bring it.
