How do we go from San Giorgio Maggiore to Murano?

Can we take a boat direct or do we need to go back to San Zacharia and catch a ride from there?

Thanks!!

This web site has a really good map of all the routes. If you catch the boat at San Zachariah, it might actually take longer to get there than if you were to walk to the F. Nove stop on the top of the ‘fish’. From there it is only two stops to Murano, only about five or six minutes. I did it a couple times, and the walk was only about ten minutes, following a map on my phone. It was a fairly straight walk.

I don't think anyone said you could walk from San Giorgio to San Zaccaria, but the No 2 boat is the only way during the day, At San Zaccaria, you have to change docks from B to D and take the No 4.1 boat and it is 42 minutes to the 1st Murano dock. Thus the suggestion to walk to Fondamenta Nuova to save some time.

Good info, thanks! We are planning to take a boat to SGM but I wasn’t sure if there was a way to catch a boat from there without going back to Venice proper.
It’s a short ride back so we will go back then hop on the boat suggested.
As always, y’all are so helpful and it is much appreciated!!
