How do I get from Como to Malpensa Airport?

Depending on where you are in Como you can take the train back to MIlan Centrale (main station) and then to the airport the Malpensa express from there. Try the trenitalia website.

I forgot to tell you that the Milan to Malpensa ticket has to be purchased from www.malpensaexpress.it (see page 262 of 'Rick Steve's Italy". HAVE FUN;)

The Malpensa Express departs from Milano Cadorna, not Milano Centrale. Trains in the Ferrovie Nord Milano network use the Cardorna station, but Trenitalia trains do not. However, FNM trains do go to Como Lago and other Como stops.

So, Tim, does that mean there is a direct train from Como to Malpensa without having to change in Milan? The question comes up here often enough that the answer should be on a FAQ page.

There is very infrequent direct bus service between Como and Malpensa but NO direct train service.

Frequent service choices are (1) Trenitalia train from Como to Milano Centrale and a bus from there to Malpensa or (2) FNM train from Como to Milano Cadorna and the Malpensa Express from there.

Note that the Como stations used by Trenitalia and FNM are NOT the same.
