Hi everyone!
I'm going to Venice next month and I was planning to go on a day-trip to Murano island. I really love Murano glass objects and I would like to buy some objects there, but I know that there are many fakes. Does anybody know how can I be sure I am buying real Murano glass?
thanks
Hi dp,
"Murano glass is hand-blown, meaning there should be bubbles and asymmetrical qualities. Look for misshapen, clouded glass or bleeding colors."
I don't know the accuracy of this https://www.wikihow.com/Identify-Murano-Glass

There are more (older) articles referencing Murano glass on the net.
Hello there,
Even if many products sold in Venice have labels that say "made in Murano" that's not enough: if you want to be sure, you must look for the Trademark of Origin that is certified by Italian law. It looks like a small label.
Have fun in Venice!
I only buy my Murano glass from Atmosfera Veneziana in Venice, not Murano. The shop only sells Murano glass. Michelangelo, the owner is Venetian, married to an American, and speaks English.

Here's a website showing the Trademark of Origin and how to tell real Murano glass.
