Hello! We will be in Italy this summer and will am trying to figure out what will be the best way to get from Florence to Positano. Any and all advice is welcome and appreciated! Thank you! - KB
Are you aware of the congestion in the area south of Naples, and the poor infrastructure ? It's not like moving about in northern Italy. It takes time and patience to get anywhere in the Sorrento/ AC area.
It just helps if you're prepared for the realities on the ground.
Have a great trip and good luck!
@KB - Here are two options to get to Positano from Florence this Summer on your trip to Italy.
Plan A - take a high speed train (Trenitalia / Italo) directly to Salerno. From Salerno, you can either catch a ferry boat to Positano or the SITA Bus. Both the bus stop and the ferry port in Salerno are very close to the railway station.
Plan B - Take a high speed direct train (Trenitalia / Italo) from Florence to Naples, then book a car service from Naples to Amalfi Coast, Positano.
You may need to consider where you are going after Positano, since it's out of the way. For example, you cannot wake up in Positano on the day you fly home from Rome.
